Summer is the season to relax and enjoy being outside and it’s also the most important time to be mindful of your skincare routine. What if you forgot the sunscreen or didn’t apply enough and now you’ve got a burn? Unfortunately, some damage has been done but you don’t have to suffer in pain. Soothing gels made with cooling aloe are recommended to help reduce the sting and prevent peeling, redness and inflammation.
Preventing sun damage is key because severe sunburn can increase your risk for skin cancer. Remember to get a skin check as part of your annual doctor’s exam. It’s recommended to perform a self-exam once a month to look for early warning signs of carcinoma or malignant melanoma; any new growth or skin changes should be reported to your medical professional.
